About this Event

Video assignments provide an exciting way for students to demonstrate their research, writing and communication skills while fostering creativity and critical thinking. Digital storytelling–crafting compelling narratives through multimedia–can take student learning to the next level. However, designing effective video projects can be challenging for instructors.

This half-day workshop will help faculty learn how to create structured and engaging video assignments. Participants will explore digital storytelling techniques, assignment design strategies and get hands-on experience with video creation tools available in the Student Multimedia Design Center. By the end of the session, attendees will be prepared to implement video assignments in their own courses.

This workshop will be facilitated by Amanda McCollom, multimedia literacy librarian, and Jess Barth, emerging multimedia technologies librarian, and is open to all faculty and staff at the University of Delaware who are interested in developing or enhancing video assignments for their courses. Whether you're new to multimedia or have experience, this workshop will provide valuable insights and practical tools to integrate video storytelling into your teaching.

Registration is required and limited to 15 participants. Lunch will be provided.

For questions, contact Amanda McCollom (amccoll@udel.edu).
