About this Event
In the course of your research, you’ll face questions on how best to organize, store, preserve and share the data you collect and use.
During this workshop, explore basic concepts and best practices of research data management that will help ensure your research is reproducible and rigorous. You’ll learn how to manage your data throughout the research lifecycle, establish file naming conventions, create metadata and documentation, and select long- and short-term data storage solutions.
It is becoming more common for funding agencies and publishers to require the sharing of research data through data repositories. As such, you’ll also learn about requirements for data sharing and explore ways to find and apply solutions based on your personal research data needs.
Sarah E. Katz, health science librarian, and Daniel Peart, data services librarian, will lead the workshop.
This virtual workshop is open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Graduate College and the Research Office. Graduate students and new faculty who are conducting or supporting academic research are encouraged to attend.
Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with details on how to join the workshop via Zoom. The workshop will not be recorded.
This workshop is part of the digital badge for Research Data Management. You do not need to be enrolled in the digital badge program to attend the workshop, though you are welcome to register for it if you would like to participate and earn the digital badge.
