Bebe Coker will perform poetry by James E. Newton in conjunction with the exhibition The Artist Legacy of James E. Newton: Poetic Roots.

The event will be emceed by Traci Evadne Currie, the poet-in-residence for the Poetry as Activism Project at the UD Library, Museums and Press, and will feature performances by student finalists from the 2024 Poetry Out Loud competition. This event is part of a collaboration between the Delaware Art Museum and the University of Delaware to celebrate James E. Newton’s legacy as an artist, UD professor and leader in the Delaware community. Exhibitions are on view at the Delaware Art Museum, UD’s Mechanical Hall Gallery and UD’s Morris Library.
