About this Event

This is the final academic year that the University will have an ArcMap license, meaning existing users need to make the transition to ArcGIS Pro, an application that helps you display, interact with and analyze your data in new ways.

During this workshop, get an introduction to ArcGIS Pro and learn how to migrate ArcMap documents with a step-by-step guide. You will learn more about handling data, symbology and layouts. There will also be a 30-minute Q&A session for personalized assistance from the instructors.

If you'd like help with the migration process, please bring your laptop with the relevant map documents.

The workshop is for intermediate- and advanced-level ArcGIS users.

It will be led by Olena Smith, lead geospatial information consultant for UD IT Research Cyberinfrastructure; Lillian Wang, GIS specialist and cartographer for the Delaware Geological Survey; and Daniel Peart, data services librarian. It is co-sponsored by UD IT Research Cyberinfrastructure, the Delaware Geological Survey and the Graduate College.

This hybrid workshop is open to the public. The workshop will not be recorded.

Registration is required. You may choose to join us in person or via Zoom. Once registered, you will receive an email with details on how to join the workshop via Zoom. The workshop will not be recorded.

If you are interested in this workshop, you may also be interested in “Basics of Geographic Information Systems” on February 22; “Getting Started with ArcGIS Online” on March 7; and “Next Steps with ArcGIS Online: Exploring and Choosing the Right App” on March 14.
