About this Event
Whether its text, audiovisual materials or internet memes, if you want to incorporate materials created by other people into your research, you should always ask yourself, “Can I use that?”
During this virtual workshop, explore key aspects of copyright law that apply in research contexts. You will learn how to analyze whether your proposed use of copyrighted material is likely to be fair use, and how to evaluate copyright status to determine whether an item is in the public domain or not.
Paige Morgan, digital publishing and copyright librarian, will lead the workshop.
This workshop is open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Graduate College and the Research Office.
Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with details on how to join the workshop via Zoom. The workshop will not be recorded.
