About this Event

Do you have a dataset or spreadsheet that needs to be cleaned or optimized?

During this virtual workshop, learn the basics of data curation and management for general research. You’ll discover how to clean and manipulate data; how to correct potential entry errors; and how to use datasets as a precursor to analytical work through OpenRefine, an open source desktop application for data cleanup and transformation.

You’ll also walk away with techniques and effective practices for collaborating with other researchers when working with datasets.

Michael Stewart, metadata librarian, and Daniel Peart, data services librarian, will lead the workshop.

This workshop is open to UD students, faculty and staff. It is co-sponsored by the Graduate College. While no prior knowledge is required, attendees are encouraged to download OpenRefine in advance of the workshop.

Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with details on how to join the workshop via Zoom. The workshop will not be recorded.
