About this Event

Join us for AI Literacy Day at Morris Library—a full-day exploration of how artificial intelligence is shaping our world. This free, public event invites students, faculty and community members to engage with current debates and real-world applications of AI through presentations, discussions and interactive experiences.

Schedule of Events:

11:10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Student Poster Session
Explore research and perspectives on current AI issues presented by students from English 306: Synthetic Rhetoric – Writing, Designing and Creating with AI.
 

12:30 – 3:00 p.m. | AI Activities Table
Engage with hands-on demonstrations and conversations about AI tools, ethics and creative applications.
 

3:00 – 4:30 p.m. | Speaker Panel: Industry Perspectives on AI
Hear from professionals across diverse fields as they share insights and experiences with AI in their work.
 

5:00 – 6:30 p.m. | Keynote Talk: Dr. Jennifer Rhee, Associate Professor, Virginia Commonwealth University
Dr. Rhee will explore the intersections of technology, ethics and creativity in the age of artificial intelligence.
 

6:30 – 7:30 p.m. | Reception

Enjoy light refreshments and continue the conversation with attendees and speakers.

 

AI Literacy Day is a collaboration between the UD Library, Museums and Press; Dr. Sean Zdenek, associate professor in the Department of English; and students from English 306: Synthetic Rhetoric – Writing, Designing and Creating with AI.
